V1.0.2 - What it was meant to be


This is the last bugfix of the base game. This is what I would've submitted to the game jam given I had a little more time to polish things up. As stated in the previous post however, I do want to continue updating this game to provide a good polished finished product that is fun to play. Without further ado though, here's the changelog:

  • The background of the main menu has been blurred to contrast the text and buttons more
  • Added an exit button
  • Added 3 new high scores
  • UI is now scaled correctly at different resolutions
  • Aliens now look at any glass that is broken
  • Player now looks away in shame when a glass is broken
  • The "Don't break the glass!" cutscene at the start of each round is now skippable by pressing spacebar
  • The player can no longer exit the screen space

Bugs fixed:

  • The player would automatically face right when the left movement key is no longer pressed
  • The play couldn't jump after being hit twice
  • Bullets sometimes wouldn't get destroyed when hitting an alien
  • After breaking a glass, the player and the aliens would still play the moving animation
  • On death, the game would take 500 seconds to restart

That changelog is definitely beefier than the one from V1.0.1! Hopefully that's most of the bugs in the game fixed.
